Toddler Tales


Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
September 5 – February 27
AGES: 1 and 2 years old

Toddler Tales is our introduction to early learning! Join Miss Kyrie as she shares her favorite books, rhymes, and movement activities. Registration is not required to attend, but space is limited. Stop by the Youth Desk the day of the class to reserve your spot. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our Early Childhood programs will be on break and not meet November 20-24 and December 26-January 19.

 

 

ARTsy Smartsy


Mondays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
September 11 – February 26
AGES: 2 to 5 years old

Join Miss Kelly every week for an hour of painting, drawing, and creating! We will focus on the joyful process of creating art and experimenting with different materials. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing they won’t mind getting messy. Registration is not required to attend this class, but space is limited. Spots are available on a rotating basis. Stop by the Youth Desk the day of the class for more information.

LEGO Night


Calling all LEGO builders! Join us the second Tuesday of every month for LEGO Night at theLibrary. Meet other LEGO fans as you compete in our LEGO building challenge. LEGO Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following evenings:

September 12 | Pets Challenge
October 10 | Haunted House Challenge
November 14 | Outer Space Challenge
December 12 | At the North Pole Challenge
January 9 | Under the Sea Challenge
February 13 | Build What You Love Challenge

All LEGO Nights are drop-in events and registration is not required to attend. Space is limited, and builders will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

 

Play to Learn


Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
September 6 – February 28
AGES: 1 to 5 years old

Children can join us from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for Play to Learn. Every week we will highlight a different play theme and will focus on a different area of play while improving your child’s physical, language, and social development. After all, play is the work of childhood!  Registration is NOT required to attend this class.

Growing Readers


Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
September 7 – February 22
AGES: 3 to 5 years old

Join Miss Diane to share fun stories, songs, and learning activities geared for children on the verge of or entering their first school experience. We also love homeschoolers! Registration is not required to attend, but space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

 Join the Library the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Bensenville Theatre for a showing of our favorite family films. Admission to the show is free! Film titles for this program are announced one month prior to the event. Visit the Library’s website for more information.

Tuesday, September 5 – The Boss Baby

Join the Library at the Bensenville Theatre for a showing of The Boss Baby. Boss Baby is a most unusual baby. He wears a suit, carries a briefcase, and is on a secret mission to discover why babies are losing their market share of love. In order to accomplish his mission he will have to join forces with his big brother, Tim. This film is rated PG for some mild rude humor.

Tuesday, October 3 – Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Join the Library at the Bensenville Theatre for a showing of Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. Based on the worldwide sensation and bestselling book series, this comedy for the whole family tells the story of two overly imaginative pranksters who hypnotize their principal into thinking he’s a ridiculously enthusiastic, incredibly dimwitted superhero named Captain Underpants. This film is rated PG for mild rude humor throughout.
