Mondays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

AGES: 2 to 5 years old

Join the Youth Services Department every week for an hour of painting, drawing, and creating! We will focus on the joyful process of creating art and experimenting with different materials. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing they won’t mind getting messy. Registration is not required to attend this class, but space is limited. Spots are available on a rotating basis. Stop by the Youth Desk the day of the class for more information.

Our Early Childhood programs will be on break and not meet November 20-24 and December 26-January 19.

 

LEGO Night


Calling all LEGO builders! Join us the second Tuesday of every month for LEGO Night at theLibrary. Meet other LEGO fans as you compete in our LEGO building challenge. LEGO Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following evenings:

January 9 | Under the Sea Challenge
February 13 | Build What You Love Challenge

All LEGO Nights are drop-in events and registration is not required to attend. Space is limited, and builders will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

 

Play to Learn


Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
September 6 – February 28
AGES: 1 to 5 years old

Children can join us from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for Play to Learn. Every week we will highlight a different play theme and will focus on a different area of play while improving your child’s physical, language, and social development. After all, play is the work of childhood!  Registration is NOT required to attend this class.

Growing Readers


Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
September 7 – February 22
AGES: 3 to 5 years old

Join Miss Diane to share fun stories, songs, and learning activities geared for children on the verge of or entering their first school experience. We also love homeschoolers! Registration is not required to attend, but space is limited. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join the Library the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the Bensenville Theatre for a showing of our favorite family films. Admission to the show is free! Film titles for this program are announced one month prior to the event. Visit the Library’s website for more information.

Tuesday, January 2 – The Emoji Movie

Hidden inside a smartphone, the bustling city of Textopolis is home to all emojis. Each emoji has only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his best friend Hi-5 and a notorious code breaker called Jailbreak. During their travels through the other apps, the three emojis discover a great danger that could threaten their phone’s very existence.

Tuesday, February 6 – The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature

Surly the squirrel and his animal friends find out that the corrupt mayor of Oakton plans to bulldoze their beloved Liberty Park to make way for an amusement park. Hoping to save the place they call home, Surly, Andie, Buddy and the rest of the gang join forces with Mr. Feng, a seemingly cute and innocent mouse who happens to be a fierce master of kung fu.
