The water tower shown in the quilt block is the old tower that was along York Road. It held 50,000 gallons of water.  The water tower in these pictures was built in 1960 and holds 500,000 gallons of  water.  It is located on Church Road and is one of two water towers in town.  Underneath this tower is a 1.8 million gallon reservoir and the village connection to Lake Michigan water.  It wasn't until 1992 that the village used Lake Michigan water.  Previous to that, Bensenville had well water.
