Join the Library for Free Comic Book Day, a nationwide event held the first Saturday in May each year where participating comic book shops and libraries around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE. We will celebrate Free Comic Book Day with superhero mask making. Stop by the Youth Services Desk for your free comic (while supplies last).

Join us for the fun as we celebrate International Firefighters’ Day! Miss Kyrie and Miss Diane will welcome two very special firefighters who will read aloud and teach us important fire safety skills. Then we’ll head outside to see the fire vehicles from the Bensenville Fire Protection District. Registration is not required to attend.

Join us every Tuesday for LEGO building fun! We’ll provide our extensive collection of bricks and elements, while you provide the imagination! Come up with your own building ideas or use our weekly theme to inspire you. After you are done building, we’ll feature some of the awesome LEGO creations on our Instagram page! No registration is required to attend, but space is limited.

AGES: 2 to 12 years old
Kids 2 years old and up are invited to join us every Wednesday morning for Art Club. Each week we will provide a different project for you to complete as well as a variety of supplies for you to create your own masterpiece. We will use washable supplies, but there is always a chance for a little mess when creating art. You may want to wear something that is okay to get slightly messy. No registration is required to attend, but space is limited.
Fridays at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Park
July 6—August 17
Children of all ages are invited to join us on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. for Park Play, the Library’s outdoor playgroup. Each week the Library will be at Sunset Park for an hour of outdoor play. Socialize with other parents and caregivers while your child enjoys sunshine, fresh air, as well as active, manipulative, and sensory play. NOTE: Park Play will be relocated to the Library’s meeting room in inclement weather.

Want to practice speaking English? Don’t know who to practice with? Are you embarrassed or uncomfortable? Come to this English conversational group, an informal meeting of people who want to practice their English. No experience is required, only the desire to speak English. We meet in the Library next to the Adult Services Desk. Registration is not required.
Grab your apron and join Cooking the Books! For each discussion we pick a selection of cookbooks around one theme. You borrow one of the books, peruse it, select and make a recipe from it, and join us as we all get together to share the finished products, our opinions, and experiences. Cooking the Books meets at 7:00 p.m. on the following evenings:

Calling all book lovers! Browse through fiction and non-fiction titles, children’s and teen books, and more at the Library’s annual book sale. Everyone is invited! We will begin accepting donations on April 1.
Reading is Out of This World!
Readers of all ages are invited to join the Library’s annual summer reading program! Registration for Summer Reading begins on Saturday, June 9 at our Summer Reading Kick Off event!
Once readers are signed up, they will receive a reading log and a “Reading is Out of This World” sticker! Complete the log to earn a prize and a chance in the grand prize drawing! The last day to turn in your summer reading log is July 31.
