McCormick was the iconic owner, editor and publisher of the Chicago Tribune from 1911 until his death in 1955.  Before his nearly 45-year career as a printing and publishing visionary, and radio and television pioneer, Robert McCormick was a WWI artillery officer, which influenced his life immeasurably.
