"The First Baptist Church was begun in 1949 in a school in Des Plaines. It moved to Foster Avenue and Highway 83 in 1956 to serve the Spanish speaking citizens. In 1976, a simultaneous interpreting system provided the congregation a Spanish language translation of the English church service."
