Computer Services

Wi-Fi
The entire Library is a Wi-Fi hotspot. All are welcome to bring their laptops into the Library, find a comfortable spot, and use the internet at no charge and with no restrictions. Extension cords are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Free Computer Classes
Computer and technology classes, such as Windows 10, Slack, Computer Literacy, Excel, and more, are available online through our Universal Class program for free with your Bensenville Library card. For more information on Universal Class, visit: benlib.org/universal-class

Public Access Computers
The Library provides public access computers for all. Each computer has full and unrestricted internet access (see our internet agreement form) as well as the Microsoft Office Suite. There is no charge to use a public access computer, and computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All computers print to a color and black and white printer; prints cost 25¢ a side for color and 10¢ a side for black and white. A computer lab assistant is on duty to assist, help with problems, and to explain procedures.

Remote Printing or Printing from a Phone or other Mobile Device
Don’t have a printer at home? Printer not working? Out of toner? send a document from your home computer to print to the Library’s public access printer. To print remotely, simply go to the Library’s website and click on the Print to the Library link. Follow the directions, and your document will be available for printing at the Library. See the Computer Lab Assistant’s Desk to release your print job.

ScanEZ Station
Do you have photos or documents that need to be scanned, faxed or/or saved digitally? The Library has a ScanEZ Station available in the Computer Lab. This station allows users to scan photos or documents as a PDF, JPEG, or Word document to an email, flash drive, or printing directly to a color or black/white printer. Scanning is free; printing costs will apply only if you send the documents to Library printers. Faxing charges are $1.00 per side.
