Superheroes are coming! Join the Library for Free Comic Book Day, a nationwide event held the first Saturday in May each year where participating comic book shops and libraries around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE. Limit three comic books per person, while supplies last.

Join us every Tuesday for LEGO building fun! We’ll provide our extensive collection of bricks and elements, while you provide the imagination! Come up with your own building ideas or use our weekly theme to inspire you. After you are done building, we’ll feature some of the awesome LEGO creations on our Instagram page! No registration is required to attend, but space is limited.

AGES: Kindergarten and older
Kids are invited to practice their reading skills with Adele and Ms. Penny! Adele, a friendly, trained therapy dog is at the once a month to help reluctant readers gain confidence and improve their reading skills with her patient, nonjudgmental, and furry nature. Registration is not required, but space is limited to 20 minutes per reader. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunset Park | ALL AGES
Children of all ages are invited to join us Fridays in July for Park Play, the Library’s outdoor playgroup. The Library will be at Sunset Park for an hour of outdoor play to socialize with other parents and caregivers while your child enjoys sunshine, fresh air, as well as active, manipulative, and sensory play. NOTE: Park Play will be relocated to the Library’s meeting room in inclement weather.

Do you want to practice speaking English? Come to this English conversation group, an informal meeting of people who want to practice their English. No experience is required, only the desire to speak English. We meet in the Library, next to the Adult Services Desk. Registration is not required.
Grab your apron and join Cooking the Books! For each discussion we pick a selection of cookbooks around one theme. You borrow one of the books, peruse it, select and make a recipe from it, and join us as we all get together to share the finished products, our opinions, and experiences. Cooking the Books meets at 7:00 p.m. on the following evenings:

Calling all book lovers! Browse through fiction and non-fiction titles, children’s and teen books, and more at the Library’s annual book sale. Everyone is invited! We will begin accepting donations on April 1.
Readers of all ages are invited to join the Library’s annual summer reading program! Registration for Summer Reading begins on Saturday, June 8 at our Summer Reading Kick Off event!
Once readers are signed up, they will receive a reading log and a “Read Wildly” sticker! Complete the log to earn a prize and a chance in the grand prize drawing!
The last day to turn in your summer reading log is July 31. For more information, stop by the Youth Services Desk or the Adult Services Desk!

All summer long, bring toys, food, and bedding – any supplies an adorable pet might need to the Library and earn extra tickets for our Grand Prize Drawings! Every item donated will earn your child an extra ticket. Only new, unopened items will be accepted, no expired food or used items will be accepted. Supplies will be donated to two local rescue shelters: DuPage Animal Friends and New Start Dog Rescue of Illinois.
